Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s cult television comedy-drama Fleabag returns to the West End stage next week, straight from a sold-out run in New York. Best known as a BAFTA-winning BBC series, Fleabag actually started as a stage show back in 2013, and Waller-Bridge returns to perform her one-woman show for this last, limited run. As it’s been announced there will be no Fleabag season 3, this really is your last chance to catch one of the country’s most-loved characters in action!
Following the life of a provocative twenty-something, navigating sex, loneliness and grief, this sharp, one-hour show retains all the comedy and allure of its televised counterpart, whilst the intimate theatre setting brings arresting honesty and immediacy to the story. Stripped of the other characters as a one-woman show, Fleabag’s self-obsession and self-destruction are told solely through her own voice, rendering the story raw and powerfully evocative.
Fleabag runs from 20th August to 14th September at the Wyndham’s Theatre, with shows at 4pm and 7:30pm. With only 30 performances, pre-release tickets were snapped up minutes after they went on sale. There are, however, still ways to get your hands on a ticket: 50 tickets per performance – 1,500 in total – have been held back for the weekly TodayTix lottery, so you can buy the best seats in the house for £15; queue for a handful of £10 tickets, released at 10am on the day of the show; or watch the live broadcast of the show on 12th September, in many cinemas and venues across the country – and even the globe.
The Wyndham’s Theatre is just a couple of miles away from at the Indigo Paddington, making it easy to join the 10am ticket queue if you want. Make the most of your last chance to catch this award-winning, Broadway-transferring, fearlessly funny show!
